The lightening strikes and knocks down the lines and sparks fly from the ground to the sky,

The bolt flashes from the ground to heaven somewhere around a quarter to eleven,

Ten million volts in one quick blast and the sand that it touches turns into glass,

Dig it up, it’s one of a kind and sell in a gallery where the rich drink wine and pay a price that boggles ones mind,

The cool gentle breeze that blows this night brings a chill in the spine as the next bolt does strike,

The sky gets bright from the lightening I see and not a thing is moving not even me,

The night is now quiet and no sounds can be heard except for the wind which tree leaves it stirs,

I hope that all are safe tonight from the mighty lightening strikes.

The garden is looking better everyday. I thinned the radishes today and the family enjoyed the first young sweet radishes. I can hardly wait until we start to receive the rewards of this great blessing that God allows us to enjoy. It is truly amazing how a dried seed which we put in the soil becomes something that grows and nourishes us it is truly wonderful. The turnips are starting to get fairly large greens. Soon I will plant some green beans so they will be harvested about the same time as the potatoes. New potatoes and green beans bring back fond memories of Grandmothers cooking.

The garden is really beginning to show some promise as the turnips and beets are starting to grow. The potatoes are starting to come up as well. Radishes should be ready to harvest by the end of this month. I just started 36 early girl tomato plants and 12 grape tomato plants as well. Also I started bell peppers and sweet pepper plants. The garden will be bordered with Marigold flowers.

Spike the family pet my good doberman guards the garden ever so patiently as he barks at bees , cats and even the neighborhood Red fox that has begun to visit daily.

All my children around me so happy they seem to be,

Each day at the door they greet me so happy and care free,

The joy upon their face as they meet me at the door,

Little bundles of happiness and joy that is for sure,

Surrounded by their love I am so every day,

It puts a smile upon my face and warmth upon my heart,

The pleasure that it gives me the explanation I could not start,

It puts chill bumps on my skin and simply melts my heart,

Surrounded by their love so blessed I am you see,

I am so very thankful that God does so love me.

The haze it rises as the rain slowly dries,

The yards they slowly fill with leaves that slowly die,

Children raking piles to take that first dive,

Pressed in a book from forty years ago,

The oak leaf crumbles as the book is opened though,

Where did it come from, what tree did it belong,

Too long ago that memory has passed on,

That oak leaf is swept away and another starts growing on.

Their head is filled with words in chronological order,

Their mind is often reeling but, never is distorted,

Sometimes it is overwhelming but, never is too much,

Complex things they remember the simple they forget,

It is all a wonderful mix that somehow seems to fit.

The rain was tingling on the roof as the metal made the clatter,

I heard the swooshing from above and wondered what was the matter,

The chopper flew through an hour before and back thirty minutes after,

The clatter of the thunder and the flashing of the light,

I wonder who is riding in the flying hospital tonight,

The noises that we hear on these dreary dreadful nights,

It makes one wonder what happened to really cause the flight,

The storm it gets much stronger at the nights closing end,

Between the hour of true midnight and the dawns gleaming in,

The rain falls upon the flowers the grass it does make grow,

The slow falling rain makes the night pass so slow.
